CASE STUDY 1

The Project was to demolish and re-develop the site of an existing Carpetright store at Gallows Corner in Romford, Essex, which was originally a commercial garage. The layout and orientation of the existing building was unsuitable as a modern retail location for Britain’s No. 1 carpet retailer.
CPMS were engaged to re-develop the site to form a new store of some 12,500 sq.ft with associated parking and goods access.
The project was an intensive 20 weeks and complicated by the environmental hazard of both asbestos and four underground petrol tanks, requiring specialist removal and decontamination.
The building was constructed as a standard portal frame with entrance canopy, new access and landscaping.
The budget for the project was £800,000 and it was completed to time and within budget.
CASE STUDY 2

A redevelopment of an existing 10,000sqft retail unit at Speke Retail Park, Liverpool for British Land and WH Smith.
CPMS had, prior to receiving instruction on this project, secured Permitted Development Rights for the installation of an 8,000sq.ft. mezzanine for this unit. The project was on surrender of the unit to construct the mezzanine floor in accordance with approved drawings, then sub divide to create two retail units of approximately 8,000sq.ft. with a new entrance feature to compliment the existing units on the park.
Additional utility services, rear access and emergency escape doors were also required.
The project was completed within 30 weeks from instruction to handover on budget.
